I went with a split damage party with two mages and my 2hander and rogue untouched. What you get: aoe deletion machines that can do significantly more damage than any other classes if used well. If you want someone to continue burning, don't try to freeze them the next turn.Īttributes you want: INT and WIT for damage, MEM for spells slots. Things not to do: fire/water and lightning/earth don't mix well. Things to do: since a mage does mostly AOE damage, you want to have someone (else) teleport enemies into a clump and bombard them And that's why a 1h sword+1h mace dual wield is so often seen on a mage it gives 20% crit chance and is available in Fort Joy. The actual damage of a statstick is useless since you'll never attack with your weapon. Basically you take them for added attributes/skills/crit chance/weapon type and nothing else. Weapons that benefit mages are: statsticks. Skills that benefit mages are: element (warfare/pyro/hydro/aero/geo), weapon (2 handed/dual wield/single hand), crit (2 handed/scoundrel), and highground (huntsman). Then you won't have the problems you're facing. You want a pure physical, pure magical, or a evenly split (2/2) team.Įach of the party member should focus solely on his/her designated damage type, otherwise they're going to suck bigtime. Except for Sebille, I love her playstyle too much. I'm open to respec the whole party if necessary. So I guess it's not just about Fane but my whole party. Since it's my first campaign and I'm not one to replay games I want to have the biggest amount of spells possible within my party. He has points in Hydro, Aero, Pyro, Necro and Geo which is spread too thin for my taste and requires too many points into memory to work, making it too low on dps. Issue being that I basically only use Lohse as a summon bot which gets quite boring, and Fane as my only source of magic damage (apart from elemental arrows and summons) feels like its just kind of there, he has a ton of skills but it doesn't feel like it synergises with the rest of the party and there are just too many schools of magic and he can't do them all. I have a 2h Ifan, rogue Sebille, ranger/summoner Lohse and Fane as a Wizard. I'm mid Act 2 (tactician mode, first campaign) and although I've had some difficulty it has been great except for one little detail, my party doesn't feel right.
